For Scorekeepers

Master the court. Keep the game moving.

1 Getting Started

Your court link

The organizer will give you a link to your assigned court. It looks like rallyhq.app/court/tournament-name/1.

Open the court link

Use your phone or tablet. The interface is optimized for touch.

Enter the PIN (or use captain login)

General scorekeepers: The organizer will share a 4-digit PIN with you.
Team captains: Use your team portal link — no PIN needed.

You're ready to score

You'll see matches assigned to your court. Select the current match to begin.

2 How to Score

Pick the match

The court page shows an Up next queue for your court. Tap a match row to open it; the live match is highlighted. Tap ← Court queue any time to come back and switch matches.

Tap to score

Tap + Point for the team that scored. Every tap updates the public scoreboard instantly — spectators see changes in real-time. The current set rules are printed right on the page (see below).

Confirm the set, then finish the match

A point that would win the set opens a Finish Set? confirm so you can't end a set by a mis-tap. When the match is decided, verify with both captains and tap Finish match — [winner].
The buttons

+ Point adds a point. The small removes the last point on that side, and Undo reverts the most recent point change (add or subtract) — not set add/remove. Every change syncs immediately to every spectator's screen.

3 Sets & Match Rules

Read the rule line on your screen

Scoring rules are set by the organizer per tournament — there is no single fixed number. The court page prints the exact rule for the set you're scoring (target score, point cap, win-by-two). Always go by what's on screen, not by memory.

Typical defaults

Out of the box, pool play is two sets to 21 (cap 23, win by 2), bracket matches are a single game to 30, and semifinals/finals are best-of-three to 21. Your tournament may differ — trust the rule line.

Sets advance automatically

When a set is confirmed, the next set opens on its own. For multi-set matches you can use Add set / Remove last set if the format needs an adjustment. Keep scoring — the system tracks set count and decides the winner.

4 Correcting Mistakes

Wrong point

Tap − to remove the last point, or Undo to revert your most recent action. The correction syncs immediately.

Major dispute

Stop play and call the organizer. They can reopen a finished match and make corrections from their dashboard.

5 Connection Issues

If you lose connection

Keep scoring. Rally HQ saves your changes locally and syncs them when you reconnect.

Green checkmark = connected and synced.

Refresh if scores seem stuck

Pull-to-refresh or hard-reload the page. Local changes are preserved.

Move closer to the router

Gym Wi-Fi often weakens past the bleachers. Closer is better.

Switch to cellular

If gym Wi-Fi is slow or saturated, drop to cellular data.

6 Best Practices

Keep your device awake

Disable auto-lock during matches so you don't have to keep unlocking.

Use portrait mode

The scoring interface is optimized for vertical orientation.

Confirm final scores

Before saving, quickly confirm with both captains to avoid disputes.

Stay charged

Bring a portable charger or stay near an outlet for long tournaments.
